Precision-Engineered Seat Solutions
An ergonomic office chair seat is where comfort and performance truly begin.
Built on a high-strength molded seat pan and paired with either foam or mesh upholstery, it’s designed to evenly distribute weight, support natural posture, and keep circulation flowing during long hours of sitting.
Different users need different sitting experiences—that’s why we offer flexible seat solutions tailored to your chair model. The right seat doesn’t just feel better, it works smarter for your users.

Foam Chair Seat System

A great seat isn’t one material — it’s a system. This “sandwich” construction ensures the seat remains silent, stable, and supportive under constant load.
Performance Seat Cover: High-abrasion resistant fabric or mesh options.
Optional Comfort Layer: A low-density soft sponge layer for immediate tactile comfort.
Core Support Foam: The engine of the seat, providing long-term elasticity and support.
E0 Structural Plywood: A 12mm–15mm thick foundation that exceeds international environmental standards.
Reinforced Plastic Seat Pan: Made of nylon plastic reinforced with glass fiber.
Foam material type: Cutting foam or molding foam, no recycle.
seat cover cloth: polyester fabric

Seat Board Preparation

Foam Bonding

Sponge seat assemblying
Step1. Seat Board Preparation:We prepare the E0 plywood board by drilling precise holes and installing T-nuts or insert nuts for secure chair assembly.
Step2. Foam Bonding: Our workers bond the foam to the plywood using eco-friendly water-based spray adhesive.
Step3. Upholstery Process: We cut and sew the fabric, wrap it tightly over the foam and board, and fix it underneath using pneumatic stapling, followed by trimming and shaping.
Step4. Assembly & Inspection: We mount the finished seat onto the reinforced plastic seat pan and conduct final checks.
Mesh Chair Seat System

Mesh seating is simpler in layers, but more demanding in engineering:
Chair Mesh (Tension Surface)
The load-bearing layer, designed to flex, breathe, and distribute pressure evenly.
Reinforced Plastic Seat Pan
Made from nylon plastic with glass fiber, featuring grooves, ribs, and mounting points to hold tension and connect to the mechanism.
chair mesh: Available in Polyester Mesh, Nylon Mesh, and TPEE Mesh.
function part: integrate a wired control module
function part: add foam strip to the front of the mesh seat to reduce leg pressure.
add-ons: Massage module or seat ventilation system

Mechanical Fastening
Mesh Cutting: We cut the mesh precisely according to the seat frame shape to ensure proper fit and tension distribution.
Mesh Fixing: We secure the mesh onto the frame using one of three methods—pressing it into grooves with reinforced edges, fixing it with screws or staples after tensioning, or clamping it between two frames and locking them together.
Frequency Asked Questiones
Can seat size (width & depth) be customized for different markets?
Yes. Seat dimensions are often adjusted based on user body size and market preference.
As a reference, typical office chair seats range around 480–520 mm in width and 450–480 mm in depth, but we regularly customize both to match regional ergonomics and product positioning.
What is a Waterfall Edge Seat Design?
It’s a front seat edge that curves downward like a waterfall, reducing pressure under the thighs and helping improve blood circulation during long sitting.

What is “usable seat depth”?
Physical seat depth is the total measuremen. The usable seat depth is what the user actually utilizes.
As the downward curves at the front and rear of the seat increase in angle, the usable support area decreases.
Which BIFMA X5.1 compliance apply to the seat pan?
Seat pans are evaluated through durability and safety tests such as seat load tests, impact tests, and cyclic fatigue tests, ensuring they can withstand long-term repeated use without structural failure.
Mesh seat vs. sponge seat — what’s the difference?
A sponge seat uses a layered cushioning structure for a softer, more traditional feel, while a mesh seat relies on a tension system that delivers better breathability and more dynamic support.
What determines the long-term comfort of an office chair seat?
Comfort sitting mainly comes down to firmness, resilience (how the seat rebounds), seat shape (especially the waterfall edge), and long-term breathability.
Can seat firmness be customized?
Yes.
For Sponge Seats: Adjusted through foam density, thickness, and layering structure
For Mesh Seats: Adjusted by mesh material and how tightly it is tensioned, either through pre-tension design, manual stretching (experience-dependent), or assisted methods where the frame is pre-loaded to achieve consistent tension.
What are the most common failure points in office chair seat?
Main chair seat failures happen in office seating:
- Sponge seats: Screw mounting areas, foam-to-board bonding, and upholstery edges
- Mesh seats: Mesh loosening or detachment, and poor tension control leading to uneven support or localized sagging
